The "Kaiser Wilhelm" (Emperor Wilhelm) has seats for 350 passengers. This almost one-hundred-year-old paddle-steamer is the oldest that is still in use in Germany. This old boat has a length of 57 metres, a width of 4,5 metres and a draught of only 95 centimeters. It casts off in Lauenburg and runs upstream the Elbe to Bleckede with a speed of a good 6 knots or more than 12 km/h. On the return trip downstream the shiny steam-boiler with its 168 hp picks up speed and runs at 10 knots or 18 km/h.
