The founder of the city, Herzog Friedrich, had the “Fünf-Giebel-Haus” (five-gable-house) on the Fürstenburgwall in Friedrichstadt built for himself and his high ranking guests in 1623. After extensive renovation a part of the house became one of the nicest art galleries in the country. In changing exhibitions mostly works from North German artists and artisans are presented. For your recreation there is a small coffee shop and also an idyllic garden.
