You can discover many interesting and exciting items in the Neustadt museum for 100 years already: fossils, a very old logboat, ballad-monger picture sheets, originals from Neustadt and its surroundings and much, much more.

A special attraction is the unique collection of archaelogical finds from the well-known excavation site „Marienbad“ in Neustadt harbour. Some finds are singular within Northern Europe.

The museum is located in the „Kremper Tor“ (Krempe Gate) and its outbuildings. This gate belonged to the medieval fortification of the city. Except from Lübeck it is the only preserved city gate in Holstein.

The museum offers educational hands-on activities as well as, for instance, humorous guided tours on different topics. The events focus on touching and trying out genuine exhibits.

Every Saturday the experimental archaeologist Manfred Pfeifer shows you how to work bone.
If you find fossils or Stone Age tools on the beach you can have them identified in our Archaeological consultation hour on Fridays between 3 and 5 pm.

Das zeiTTor ist von der Tourismus-Agentur Schleswig-Holstein als familienfreundliche Einrichtung zertifiziert worden. Wickeltisch und Kinderspielecke stehen zur Verfügung.
Das zeiTTor ist Ausstellungshaus und zugleich eine öffentliche Serviceeinrichtung. Angebote sind u. a.:
- „Ins Nähkästchen geschaut. Schätze aus dem Wohnzimmer“ ist eine besondere Ausstellungsreihe. Sie bietet die Möglichkeit, die eigene private Sammlung der Öffentlichkeit zu zeigen. Dabei kann es sich um Briefmarken, Modelleisenbahnen, Kaffeekannen o. ä. handeln. Kontaktieren Sie uns gerne, wenn Sie Ihre Sammlung ausstellen möchten.
- „Archäologische Sprechstunde“ ist ein Angebot zur Bestimmung und Datierung von archäologischen Funden und Versteinerungen. Die Teilnahme ist kostenlos.

Ab 2012 kann eine gut sortierte Präsenzbibliothek mit den Themenschwerpunkten „Orts-, Regional- und Landesgeschichte“ genutzt werden. Eine Gebühr dafür wird nicht erhoben.
Museumsshop

Das zeiTTor - Museum der Stadt Neustadt in Holstein befindet sich im Zentrum Neustadts am Ende der Fußgängerzone Kremper Straße. Parkplatz P4 liegt direkt am Museum. Die nächstgelegene Bushaltestelle befindet sich am Marktplatz (5 Gehminuten zum zeiTTor). Vom Bahnhof gelangt man zu Fuß in ca. 20 Min. zum Museum.

zeiTTor - Østholstens museum ligger midt i Neustadts bykerne for enden af fodgængerzonen Kremper Straße. Parkeringspladsen P4 ligger direkte op til museet. Det nærmeste busstoppested findes på torvet, 5 minutter til fods til zeiTTor. Fra stationen er der ca. 20 gå-minutter til museet.
