Kiel University of Applied Sciences has a collection unique in Europe of representative objects which document the beginning and development of the computer era. Among them are treasures like the calculating machines that were designed and built by the German computer pioneer Konrad Zuse. There are, for instance, the electromagnetic relay calculator Z 11, the data processor Z 16 (on the basis of punch cards), the transistorized calculators Z 23 and Z 25 and the first electronic plotter, the graphomat Z 64.The stock of the museum consists of 1.500 exhibits with an estimated value of 50 million marks. Most of the exhibits are kept in storage. They will be made available for the public in a virtual museum in the Internet. Workshop and travelling exhibitions are in preparation. On special occasions the supportive association offers guided tours of the "Zuse room", in which the highlights of the Zuse collection are exhibited. In addition, it can be used for events for school classes. thematic focus: Industry/History of Technology, Natural science, Folklore, History 6,- € per person, reduced 4.50 € guided tours on special subjects concerning the history of computers A journey through the history of computers: 3D film and guided tour (60 min) every 1st Saturday of a month at 3:15 pm. guided tours in english The museum is supported by the “Förderverein Computermuseum Kiel e.V.” (registered supportive association for the computer museum in Kiel) Museet støttes af støtteforeningen Computermuseum Kiel e.V. The computer museum is located on the campus of the FH Kiel (Kiel University of Applied Sciences), Eichenbergskamp 8 in Kiel-Dietrichsdorf. Motorists follow the signs “Ostuferhafen”, later “Fachhochschule”. By public transport you can reach the museum either by busses No 11 and get out at the bus stop “Fachhochschule” or by the Schwentine ferry F3 and get out at the pier “Dietrichsdorfer Brücke”. Computersamlingen ligger på FH Kiels universitetsområde, Eichenbergskamp 8 i Kiel-Dietrichsdorf. Som bilist kan du følge skiltene mod Ostuferhafen og senere mod Fachhochschule.
