Former animal food and supply camp of the Prussian cavalry, large building complex built in brick, 1000 metres away from Schloss Gottorf. Presentation on daily life of the 18th, 19th and 20th century in Schleswig-Holstein in different sections:
"Tools and work of farmers" (especially important: a horse-driven gear mechanism; locomobils; a so-called 'Marschenpflug' - a plough used for the rich soils in Western Schleswig-Holstein; a so-called 'Kürwagen'; a forge; a cartwright’s workshop)
"fishermen - boats - nets" (special fisherman's rowing boat from Gothmund, 'Eiswade' - a special net for ice fishing, smoking of fish)
"The country between the Seas" (local history museum, souvenir hall, bathing cart, carriole, Schleswig-Holstein quiz)
"Historical mechanisms of drive" (steamroller, small electric truck)

The 'Volkskundliche Museum' (folklore museum) is one of the largest in Germany. It presents an extensive picture of Schleswig-Holstein and its inhabitants.
