The establishment of the „Stadtmuseum Pinneberg“ (Pinneberg town museum) was begun in January 1995. It is housed in the “Alte Amtsgericht” (old county court) from 1855 in the centre of the striving town in the environs of Hamburg. Changing exhibitions are presented on the ground floor. On the first floor the practice of the dentist and painter Rudolph Grothkop, who was born in Pinneberg in 1908, is shown. It dates from the early 20th century and was a studio at the same time. A small section on town history is located in the annexe.
