This family-friendly museum presents the local flora and fauna in spacious exhibition rooms. Small and large dioramas give an understanding of North Frisian nature. Freshwater and sea water aquariums and a live bee colony enrich the exhibition.
The adventure room offers manifold possibilities to children to busy themselves: animals can be stroked and in addition there are painting and creativity facilities.
There is free admission to a show garden with traditional vegetables.

The museum leaflet (German/Danish) introduces the museum with a concise informative text and coloured illustrations. Both publications are available for free at all Tourism centers in the northern part of the North Frisian district or at the museum., Südtondern nature guide, published annually, with calendar of events

Arriving by car
A 2-km-walk from Niebüll train station, Federal road B 5 from the North and the South: exit „Autoverladung Sylt“, over the bridge, then straight on to the town centre on “Peter-Schmidts-Weg” by following the signs “Museen Niebüll”. In Niebüll turn left at the second traffic lights into the “Hauptstraße” (main road).
