The 'Naturschutzgesellschaft Schutzstation Wattenmeer e.V.' is a private, non-profit-making nature conservancy organisation, which was founded in 1962. Its aim is to further understanding of and fascination for the 'mud flat ecosystem' and the North Sea. In this way it wants to enhance the protection of these biospheres and also the willingness to protect them.
The Wadden Sea Conversation Station organisation is aimed at increasing general knowledge about and interest in the Wadden Sea ecosystem and the North Sea, thus promoting the willingness to protect these habitats.
