Description
The Büdelsdorf Iron Art Casting Museum presents old iron and the moving history behind it in an impressive way. Whether a memorial to a person, a coal box or a coffee grinder - a total of around 180 exhibits are on display.
The museum showcases cast iron and artistic casting as well as the cultural and historical significance that the material had in the 19th century. It is one of the few museums in the whole of Germany to specialise in this fascinating subject. The museum was founded by Käte Ahlmann, one of the most important female entrepreneurs of the 20th century.
