The Museum der Natur Hamburg brings together the fascinating worlds of animals (zoology), minerals (mineralogy) and fossils (geology and palaeontology) across three venues.
The public collection of the Hamburg Museum of Nature – Mineralogy presents treasures from the earth’s depths. Across a two-storey, 450 m² exhibition space, visitors can expect to see exhibits in artistically decorated and atmospherically lit display cases. It is not scientificcompleteness, but rather the aesthetics of re presentative exhibits that dominate the exhibition.
The museum’s collections comprise minerals, gemstones, meteorites, rocks and ores. They originated from the Natural History Museum, which was destroyed during the war. Its collections are used for research by the Leibniz Institute for the Analysis of Biodiversity Change (LIB). The collection of minerals and meteorites
ranks the museum’s scientific collections amongst those of Germany’s leading museums.

By bus: Next to the museum you will find the bus stop "Grindelhof/Rentzelstraße". The Metrobusses No. 4 and 5 will frequently stop at this station.
By train: Hamburg-Dammtor railway station
By subway: U1 station Stephansplatz or U2/U3 station Schlump
