Von der mit vielfarbigen Natursteinen gemauerten Befestigung des östlichen Fördeufers blickt der Beschauer über das bewegte, gegen die Findlingsblöcke im Vordergrund anbrandende Wasser. Die eilig in die Kieler Binnenförde heimkehrenden Fischerboote mit dunklen Segeln wiederholen und betonen im Bild die Diagonale der Uferpartie. - Die Arbeit steht in Burmesters Schaffen für eine Phase des Experimentierens mit impressionistischer Manier.
