Aus einem Blätterkranz, dessen Zentrum außerhalb der Bildfläche liegt und dessen Blätterspitzen eine an- und abfallende Kurve nach rechts beschreiben, führen drei leicht geneigte Stängel stufenweise, dabei auseinanderstrebend in die obere Bildhälfte, wo längliche mehr oder weniger schmale Blütenkelche in steiler schräger Anordnung zu sehen sind. Während Form und räumliche Lage der Blätter mit Grün, Blau und Violett illusionistisch wiedergegeben sind, leuchten Stängel und Tulpengrund hell gelbgrün und sind die Blüten mit Licht- und Schattenpartien zinnober- und karminrot getönt.
